Every project starts with you
After contacting us, you will receive a questionnaire by email that helps us prepare to meet with you. You’ll then get together with our Master Builder, Steve Conway, to discuss your project at length.
He’s worked on more than 300 projects, and home customisation is his specialty. His advice will ensure the best outcomes to suit your budget and long term needs. Steve will then compile a preliminary agreement, with estimated costings and timing.
Design and plans
Working together with you, your chosen architect or with the Conway CMS group of trusted designers, Steve will overlook the designing and planning of your dream home as your highly experienced and qualified Project Manager.
He understands that design and finish have to work seamlessly with buildability and liveability, and ensures these work together in planning your home.
Once your plans and finance are finalised and approved, usually in around six weeks, Conway CMS utilises a construction contract which appoints Steve as the Construction Manager.
This contract will outline the progress milestones and payments and legal obligations of all parties. As your Construction Manager, Steve will liaise directly with you and/or your architect, throughout the building process, depending on the contract particulars.
Transparency throughout the building process
Throughout the building process, Steve remains responsible for the day-to-day oversight of a construction site, management of vendors and trades, and the communication of information to all involved parties.
Steve regularly invites you, the customer, to view the progress of your new home, welcoming discussion on plan changes that will ultimately lead to you having the best outcomes for liveability and enjoyment:
- Earthworks and foundations – it gives an idea of the spaces on the block
- Wall frames and trusses – gives the shape of the building
- Roofing and cladding – starts to look like a house
- Interior lining – starts to look like a home
- Fit-out (kitchen and bathrooms) – when you can imagine yourself using the place
- Finishing touches and painting – all the big jobs are done
- Defect walkthrough – final checks before handover
This is the most exciting part of the building process – finally, after 12 or more weeks of construction, your dream home is revealed. However, our involvement doesn’t stop there. We know you need to experience your home in all four seasons Australia has to offer, and we’re on hand to touch up after 3 months, then again at the end of 12 months of settling.
